Joey Mojo

Music has always been a huge part of Joey Mojo’s life. After travelling the world Joey settled down on the QLD city of the Gold Coast. Here he soon established his name as one of the up and coming DJ’s. Having matured from the sounds of Happy Hardcore and Trance Joey Mojo changed his musical direction to Deep House, Tech House, Jackin’ & West Coast. Then to the quickly evolving genre Electro, and rediscovered his roots of RnB through Funky & Soulful Vocal House and Underground Bootlegs.

After teaming up with the Toomba Records crew of Giv, Fusion and Gerry Morales, Joey Mojo was able to tune his skills and bust into the Nightclub scene.

Joey Mojo broke into the club scene at Baja on the southern end of the Gold Coast unleashing his Jacking-Funk-Electro sound. He played the Monthly Toomba Records event “Versus” and “Toomba Crew Parties”. He also headlined events on the Sunshine Coast, New Years Eve at Q1’s QBar in 2006/07 and Summafieldayze 2008.

This led to him joining the team at The Bedroom Nightclub, Temple Lounge, L9One and The Coolangatta Hotel.

Joey Mojo’s Nightclub sets carry immense energy with an infectious bounce, uplifting vocals and groovy bass lines. They also tend to get dirty with heavy riffs and twisted, grinding synths. Whilst his Lounge sets provide chilled out, deep, soulful, vocal house that flirt with funk and soul. Joey also hopes to start serious production soon to further extend his place in the music industry.
