Joel Samin

Joel has a musical heritage like no other. His father and uncle dodged bullets to bring live musical performance to the troops during the Vietnam War. Joel's passion for music is in his DNA.

Born to a musical family, he began messing around with his dad's audio equipment and seriously eclectic record collection as a youngster. Joel is a classically trained, prolific musician, song writer and artist. His many years of experience with live funk soul outfit Madison Kat have given him a thorough understanding of live performance, song selection and how to read a crowd and get them pumping!

Joel has played clubs, parties, and live venues on the Gold Coast, Sydney and China since the age of 16. His DJ sets reflect his origins as a live keyboard player, preferring vocal tracks with rich harmonies and funky synth lines. Joel creates an undeniable party atmosphere that covers a wide gamut of genres from 70's Funk and early Chicago House to Tech House, Hip Hop and contemporary Indie Dance. Although adept at pumping out club favourites, Joel is fueled by a love of the underground and has an obsessive desire to find amazing rare tracks you wont hear anywhere else.


Combining immaculate technical ability, an uncanny resonance with the crowd, and a genuinely deepknowledge of music, he's an up and coming talent that's a joy to experience.
