Funk Yeah

Funk Yeah is a dynamic, up-and-coming Brisbane based band who in the past six months has been making waves through Brisbane’s music venues, filling dance floors with their unique blend of funk, soul and dance grooves. Featuring the musical stylings of six established Brisbane musicians, Funk Yeah creates a sound that is dynamic, a vibe that is electrifying and gives an uncompromising message to the audience saying; 'let's have some fun!’”

Having only formed in the latter stages of 2009, Funk Yeah quickly found their feet securing performances at Brisbane’s newest prestige nightspot Cloudland. Making such an impression on the audience that Funk Yeah was subsequently booked back on a weekly basis for the next two months.

This allowed the band to establish a network of fans gaining a whirlwind of support, going on to secure a Wednesday and then Saturday night residency at The Press Club in Fortitude Valley as well as regular shows in and around Brisbane town.

While Funk Yeah hustles their own original flavour of dance funk, the band also has an extensive repertoire of classic Soul, Funk and Mo-town tracks. Sure to please any crowd, this repertoire ranges from Stevie Wonder & Marvin Gaye to Jamiroquai, James Brown and everything in between. The band creates a sophisticated yet fun party atmosphere and will customise their performance to suit the crowd and performance timeframe.

2010 will see Funk Yeah get stuck back into head into the studio to record their highly anticipated debut album. Stay tuned for details.
