| Bobby Alu |
Introducing BobbyAlu… Pacific grooves, afro rhythms, smooth harmony & good vibes. A recognised drummer and percussionist for artists all over Australia. Bobby now also fronts his own groove-heavy solo project bringing island soul, sweet songs, percussion & good times. How did it all begin? When his Samoan mother moved to Australia her only income came from dancing in a Polynesian Group. The Pregnancy was spent to the step & hip shake of cook island drumming... Much Later after attending a weekly drum circle (Burleigh Beat) he bought a Djembe from percussion store ‘Threeworlds’. Playing for fun quickly turned to playing percussion with Djs in bars around the Gold Coast & learning Latin & African Techniques & becoming familiar with the Drum-Kit.
A stint at TAFE led to a spot in the Queensland Conservatorium Popular Music Program. An interest in audio production during this degree was the birth of BobbyAlu and the start of a side career in music production.
